Who is considered to be Jew?
The Torah law determines that a person born from Jewish mother is considered to be Jew, as well as ger – a non-Jew who has undergone giur in the qualified rabbinical court. At the present time the fact of being Jew can be proved by documents and/or proof of witness. Usually confirmation is required for carrying out the circumcision procedure, Torah learning, when concluding a marriage and etc.
